It is always great to see the world through a kid’s eyes and hear their honest view on things so we thought we should recruit our very own “kiddy reviewer”.

Our secret reviewer is ten years old and loves to eat out. Her favourite foods include pizza, chocolate cake and strawberries. All Down the Hatch NI reviews within this tab are written by our secret reviewer (in exchange for some pocket money!!).

Name: Starbucks (Connswater)

Location: Connswater Shopping Centre, Bloomfield Ave, Newtownards Rd, Belfast BT5 5LP

Our experience:  They are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week and they are smart because you need a code for the bathroom so people just don’t walk in and go – the code is on the receipt.

There is free WiFi and comfy seats. Daddy’s coffee wasn’t to the normal standard as it was too cold. It had an arty looking wall which was pretty cool with a big painting of their logo.

The staff don’t work very well yet, because they’re being trained. It looked messy, they didn’t clear away the dishes from tables quickly enough.

Best bits: The food is yummy and there is a drive thru which is pretty cool. Daddy said we can do that next time for fun- just like how the Americans do it!

Worst bits: They make you wait forever- maybe it’s cause they are all new and learning how to do things.

Type of food: Hot drinks, buns, cakes, sandwiches etc

Atmosphere: Not too bad it can be busy but is really spacious. There is lots of different types of seating from sofas to massive tables for group.

Name: Little Wing Pizzeria

Location:  Holywood

Our experience: My visit was good as the food is nice for both kids and adults. The staff are very nice in my opinion because they don’t make you wait that long even if its busy. We had dough sticks with garlic butter, margarita pizza and chocolate ice cream and it tasted gooood. My ice cream was massive and I was too full to finish it but I did like it. My brothers enjoyed the food too as they made moustaches with their dough sticks and used their ice cream cones to make Pinocchio noses – boys are so silly!

Best bits: The Holywood Little Wing has a playground so in the summer you can play outside in the warmth

Worst bits: The bad thing is the music as it was too weird and too LOUD!! It sounded like some rock band which is boring. Also, sometimes there are peoples dishes left on the tables which I don’t like.

Type of food: Pizza/pasta

Opening hours: Every day, 11am-10pm

Name: Pizza Express

Location: Lisburn Road, Belfast

Our experience:  My experience was great yummy food for kids and adults. It’s pretty clean they clear away the dishes quickly. The staff are nice but sometimes make you wait forever! I always get the same thing to eat when I am here – dough balls, margarita pizza and a brownie with ice cream. I love the garlic butter with the dough balls – they are awesome!

Best bits: It is good because they serve kids first and they give you something to do while waiting. There are table mats with colouring pencils and sometimes you get paper hats to wear too.

Worst bits: It’s bad because of where I sit as I always get the same place which has a light shining on me making it hard to see!
