Name: Kiwi’s Brew Bar
Location: 47 Main Street, Portrush, Co Antrim, BT56 8BN
Our experience: Voted Northern Ireland’s best bar 2016 by Hospitality Ulster. The bar is owned by Kiwi Kris Charteris who brings a chilled out vibe to the place. His passion for craft brewing is evidenced by his excellent selection of local craft beers although there are a good range of national branded brews on tap too!
We went with a crowd of friends and there were enough big booths for us all in this small bar. Lyns had the new Boatyard distillery double gin with Fevertree Ginger ale and Robert had a Beavertown Black Betty IPA. Both drinks went Down the Hatch NI nicely! We missed the live music that night but word on the street is that it makes for one good nights craic on the north coast – a good reason to return!
Best bits: Atmosphere was cool, Great range of drinks
Worst bits: The toilets were freezing! No Wi-Fi available
Service quality: The barmen were cool, relaxed and knowledgeable about the beers. Kris the owner even went out of his way to call us a taxi!
